Known for it’s great European food and great service, The 9th Floor Restaurant and Bar is an open-air Phuket dining institution located in the heart of Patong. It’s also one of the trendiest bars in all of Phuket, with an stunning aerial view of Patong City and the Andaman Sea.
Patong dining has not been the same since The 9th Floor showed up on the scene years ago as it infused Phuket with elegant cuisine and a luxurious bar that makes diners feel at home yet with an air of exclusivity.
Michael began his culinary journey at The 9th Foor with a sausage and emental cheese salad that is infused with a creamy French dressing that makes the taste buds sing! Definitely one of Phuket’s most unique dishes.
The very European dish of Crab meat and apple salad also made its way to the table and provided a familiar flavour that was irresistible.
Michael also tried the 9th Floor’s tasty king prawn flambe, with cognac, on a layer of black and green olives and a tomato/tarragon salsa. Pan fried veal saltimbocca and parma ham, served with risotto – one of the restaurant’s signature dishes – was a key dining winner in Patong.
The 9th Floor is also known for their excellent service and attention to detail which is difficult to match on Phuket. The staff helps diners pair their meals with flavourful wines from their collection.
The smells and taste of Paris come alive at The 9th Floor as the Cafe de Paris – one of the most famous dishes in the French capital – is served. The meal consists of sliced striploin beef (Australian Entrecote) with a traditional melted herb butter sauce and french fries.
The 9th Floor in Patong also served up a mean oven-baked lamb chops with a crispy pesto crust. Michael ends his meal with signature French dish of chocolate fondue with fruit. The fruit is dipped in a traditional way with the molten chocolate providing a leathery yet tasty coat. French dining at it’s finest.
